Alprazolam (Xanax) is an anti-anxiety medication at normal doses it usually has mild sedative effects, most people can still work and function it. Many people require it to function!

Valium is a sedative that has anti-anxiety effects, it is frequently given IV but is also available as a pill. Minor surgeries can and frequently are performed with IV Valium.

If you want knocked out, Valium it is! If you just need something to help with anxiety give the Xanax a try.

Lastly it is illegal to share medications even between husband and wife.

wildwest, most drugs are still okay after code dates and I would not fear taking the xanax. For sure you want to take it an hour or more before getting in the chair. I believe xanax will do much more for anxiety than valium and valium will tend to make you sleepy, depending on the doseage.

If it were me I'd take the xanax and for me I have to take 2 pills rather than 1 but maybe not for some folks. With valium, again it depends on the doseage.

    Good luck.

I think if you were take an edible (or two) it might make the experience worse, especially if you have no prior experience with them. Many people accidentally overdo it due to the slow release nature of it, don’t know how to process what’s happening and start feeling extremely uncomfortable. It’s a subjective experience though, and I don’t doubt edibles would be helpful for certain people. At the very least I wouldn’t recommend taking one and heading out into the public without a trial run at home first.

You most likely would not be the first to consume either of those before seeing the dentist.

Bummer that on the legality. Eric summed it up nicely below. A trail run would be better at first.

Is CBD legal there? That can halve the calming effect without the feeling most associate as a ‘buzz’ that you may get withTHC.
