That’s the way some want it. Those will be the first to go.

Gotcha, nice clarification and I agree for the most part.

It’s one interpretation, They (LGBTQ+) would add MAPS and somehow legitimize pedophelia. It would be like an advocate of banning guns saying the NRA is going to give lifetime platinum membership to perpetrators of mass shootings because they like to play with guns. He gave a clarification, I’m all good.

"Keep protesting" advice while out on a bike ride an hour ago! Nice. :picard:

Please, everyone.....try to keep this thread civil. I know it's very hard nowadays with the craziness that the past several years have been, we all have differences and opinions, but we all come here for the comraderie that this place created.

It's hard sometimes for one side to see the others' POV, I get it. But let's try to keep this place the best forum on the internet.....

I wonder if longtime readers of the New York Times just kind of go along with whatever they’re publishing, or maybe have a superhuman ability to adapt and accept without question whatever the mouthpiece puts out.

    Yike.
I have a hard time telling male from female from a distance now. I dont recall having that issue in my youth.
Getting closer to an individual, I find myself revising my conclusion, sometimes several times.
Then I ask the Mrs. what was that?
She has a better eye I guess.
Sometimes I check her out real good to make sure I know whats what still.

Eric, you are in luck - here’s a real, live reader of the NYT! Sadly, no superhuman powers employed. It is pretty simple - as WW would say, “roll and scroll”, which is what I did. However, given your curiosity, I went back and read it. Curiously, I never considered any news outlet to be my mouthpiece. ? Anyway, you might be surprised to learn, as I also was, of the entertainment trends they are reporting on. I suspect the “WTF” of the thread’s title is bettered deserved by the consumers of those shows, not those reporting on it.

I’m just surprised there isn’t more pushback on this topic. Something tells me that the reaction would be quite different if it was written in the other New York paper, the one owned by Rupert Murdoch ;) What gets printed in the papers, broadcasted over the airwaves, and streamed online is what drives society, as much as these outlets are a reflection of society. Maybe I’m just shocked more easily than others when it comes to things that have been taboo for so long now being re-evaluated. Fifteen years ago we were talking about universal health care and now we're talking about eating each other. Some might call that "WTF worthy" I’ll take your borrowed term and scroll and roll though. :)

Equating all reporting to being advocacy will definitely result in a perplexing read.

Did you guys hear about the time Jeffrey Dahmer had his parents over for supper? They said “you know Jeffrey, we really don’t like your neighbors.” To which Jeffrey responded, “that’s okay, just push them to the side and eat your vegetables.”
