Why do they never ask the important questions? What kind of tree? How many BTU? How long to season it?
My sister in law lives in mass. and the trees are right at the edge of the road, I don't know how they plow the roads.
I see on the news all the time, snow storms, ice storms, high wind, tornadoes, hurricanes. : : tree falls on house , house totaled, injuries... Trees block road & access of the emergency crews .... Trees fall & take out power. Millions out of power. .... ...
Last weekend a large limb broke out of a tree hit the power lines and than a passing car. A father and son were in the car and unfortunately the father did not survive the impact the son made out ok with only minor injuries. Just shows when your times up its up.
And have you ever really took notice while driving down the road at all the half rotten trees or limbs about ready to fall? I've always wondered why the power companies and telephone companies don't take those down but wait until a storm then have to pay overtime wages to fix the problem.
thats very true, I look at trees like that all the time. I noticed a big oak had uprooted and is leaning on a smaller tree right towards the road and powerlines close to where I work. Its been like that for months.
That happened to a friend of mine. It rained 4" the day before and a huge hickory fell over and onto his truck in the dark. Nearly killed him. A branch punctured his lung, luckily the next driver by was an RN and saved his life.
In our area the forestry dept does a four year rotation. Also we are only allowed to trim so far from the lines and all that kind of stuff. Plus the people that won't let you trim. Its all politics around here as far as the trimming around powerlines. Not so sure about the roads.
