I just thought about this while reading another thread and gbreda was running his oil heat to prevent frozen pipes. Those of us that have relied on pellet and/or wood heat sometimes have parts of the house that don't get warm, and frozen pipes are a concern. Our downstairs bathroom is above a crawlspace. A few years ago I turned the furnace down when it was -20 to save $$$ and just rely on the pellet stove. After a day and a half of frozen pipes i decided that was no longer a good idea.
