    Don’t even mention those jokers!

The manufacture has requested the miss built harness back. So I’ll be doing it all again next week. The kicker is the harness could have been repaired. I did not order it.

New surge tank. Old one was leaking at the seam. Pressure tested it and then found a bad freeze plug. Not going to be fun. It's behind the ear cooler. 20231107_080820.jpg

Waiting on a local company to bend me a new piece. My helper cut it out, told him we were going to have to get it cut strait before we welded the other one in 20231107_081122.jpg

Well guys I don't miss those days.
Years ago I did a lot of work on stationary trash compacters like at the local big stores as well as trash trucks , mounting bodies on trash trucks as well as dump trucks.
    Dirty / heavy work.
I don't think I could do that now.

Money was very good but it was work!!

    I
I interviewed at a big trash truck place, union, Excellent money and benefits. A long drive but I was gonna take the job. It was July. Right before I signed the papers we took a walk trough the shop.

    NOPE!

I got in my truck and left. My hats off to those guys. I couldn’t stomach it.

Oh , some days were bad!
Like the days in July when the truck came in packed full with the pushout cylinder blown and couldn't get the load out , after they let it sit full in the yard for a couple days before we would see it.
Climb it through the access door to a mess of maggots and gallons of hydraulic oil. Fun times.

Stationary packers where you literally have to take a snow shovel to clear the living rice before working.
And the rats we used to kill and leave them lined up on the loading dock.

After doing it for a while you become sort of immune to the sights and smells.

    It was interesting

I understand what yall are talking about. I spent 5 years at the city of Hot Springs. Had to pour a line of transmission fluid around the truck at quiting time to contain the critters.

They ran the cutting edge down so far it got in the blade. These John Deeres don't have a replaceable mole board so I'll have to build one. Once the blade separated it started filling up with dirt and debris.
