Got stabbed in the foot twice in the same spot today by two different nails at work but still managed to do some scrounging after work. Not sure what it is but it's all btus.
Looks like Egyptian Swamp Nettle. Or possibly Northern Hosticlefifer. Either way, a nice score for sure!
Swamp Nettle smells like a cross between Monday morning lunchbox and post game jock strap. Not very pleasant, to say the least. Northern Hosticlefifer, on the other hand, is quite soothing. It smells like a combination of honeysuckle and lilacs.
Whatever it is, it will burn. On a more serious note, I hope your foot is okay. My son stepped on a nail last weekend. I haven't done that in years, but I still remember how bad it hurts.
A little red and swollen but a hydrogen peroxide bath helps clean the wound out. Happens when you do a demo job to add an addition on.
BTUs Looks to be fairly solid & dry, good wood no bark , Split & stacked it'll dry & be ready by burn this season.
Got a little more today, think it's red maple and a wee bit of elm, there's still a couple of downed trees I have to get at but I'm taking it car load by car load. No loaded pics this time but it ended up about the same amount as before, good stuff so far and free.
