    grabbing Brad.....grabbing!!! :picard:

Pulled the minnow trap today. Last year, that stream was producing minnows like you wouldn't believe. This year, it's pretty much dead. Maybe it froze out last winter.....

Well, I gabbed a load of wood from the spot I told ya about yesterday; the trip wasn't a total bust ! All maple. In the background is some of the ash trees I dropped over the last few days.

The last time I posted about felling this standing topped off Beech was May 2, 2023, since tomorrow is supposed to be a crappy day, I plan on felling & bucking this up before the end of the week. Hopefully there is some nice solid firewood that will come from it.

Once everything is bucked up and if it's solid Beech, I'll haul the splitter up the hill with hopes of making a nice size pile before I haul it home.

After I get the Beech stacked, it will be back to the Maple I've been b/s/s.

Gonna be hot once again these next few days. 80's and 90's. The "drunk-tooners" will be out in full force for the holiday I'm sure.

We might drop down to around 39 tonight with another cool night tomorrow and then the warmer weather hits.

I brought these two rounds of Birch and two smaller ones not pictured up to a neighbor who will turn them into bowls.

After some heavy rains today, I'll let the area where the Beech is have a full day without rain before working on it.

I still have that Maple I can work on so that will happen tomorrow.

No, we had a night in the high 30's earlier this month, it will feel nice.

Today I was talking with the neighbor who I put in wood for, they would like more in so I have another scheduled day with the wheelbarrow.

Today I did some cutting on the Maple I've been working on and then rolled everything up near the splitting area. I took a walk around looking for more downed trees, this Beech is the biggest I found.

I did take a small load of Maple down the hill and stacked it.

I'm not sure what happened but all the pictures I took today never saved, so after I took the dog for a walk tonight, I took another two pictures. Picture 3590 is the start of the second face cord in the back stack.

The firewood is from the Maple I've been working on, the first picture is the second face cord in that back stack and the second picture is a stack near the front that I added some splits to.

Thanks Locust Post , hopefully I can do some firewood work during this hot stretch we have coming in, out an in early. I have two damaged Beech that would be nice if I could get it in the wood inventory in the next two weeks if not before.

I also need some Ash on the ground before EAB gets them, usually our hardwood area hold 66 to 68 face cord but I have three face of pine in one area so it will hold 63 or 65 of hardwood this year.

September is usually one of our wettest months but after having a very wet summer, I hope it isn't, we've had enough.

This morning I put more firewood in for a neighbor, they said that was good for the firewood inside but I'll stack two more rows (shorter) in another area outside under the roof, if we have a real cold winter then they're set.

After I was done with the above and coffee/talking with the neighbors, I had a date with the push mower, most of the yard is done except for a few areas and that will get done soon.

Yesterday we had the possibility of getting some heavy rains with high winds(didn't get either) so I covered two more face cord of White Pine for the shoulder season next spring.

Today I used the trail mower and then when the trails were done, I used the push mower on two areas of the lawn before calling it a day.

Tomorrow I should start splitting some White Pine, we have some rounds down here but the bigger rounds are up top, I'm thinking I'll take care of what's left from this picture first.

This was a smaller wind damaged Beech that came down over a year ago up top, I bucked it up on the third and then carried it up the hill, just need to split it.

The trunk and some of what's on the ground are left.

It was a day splitting in the woods, part of a big old pine that came down late last year that I bucked up to open the trail when it happened, a small cherry that was bucked up last year and the downed damaged beech I bucked up this year.

Yesterday I had a neighbor stop me before going in the woods, they needed a nice size load of tongue and groove pine pushed back (it was on skids) in there garage, that would make room for another car. I told them I could do that today so I warmed the tractor up this morning, put on the pallet forks and headed over and did that.

We received 27mm of rain overnight so I'll stay off the trails today.
