I've often thought about getting a pair of Limmer handmade boots since they are made locally but the almost 2-year wait list and the $1,600-2,000 price tag has always ruled it out (they are just boots after all). I've been wearing Timberland Pro boots for years and they work good enough for me (after upgrading the insole).
I wear hikers. Switch between Keen and Oboz. The Oboz are my dress hikers. The Keen are my casual hikers.
Terribly unpopular opinion but I have bad feet - wear orthotics and my feet and the first thing to always get tired on me. When my last pair of Caterpillar boots finally bit the dust, I replaced them with Hoka sneakers. They don't take the beating the boots do and if you need more ankle support or steel toes, they are not suitable but there is nothing like them for my feet. When I buy a new pair, they are my every day shoe until my work pair become too beat up or worn. That pair then becomes my work shoe and I buy a new pair for every day use. I don't need boots like some of you do but if your job doesn't require them, comfort wise, they can't be beat.
Fit is really important…learned that with ski boots. I’m brand agnostic when it comes to ski boots and goes with what fits my feet best. A good fitter will help with that. For work boots, Timberlands fit me best. Tried some others, but that’s what works for me.
Got a recommendation for model? I looked at their website and most are too colorful or oddly shaped for my liking.
Bondi 9. They do have some colorful models no doubt but you can get these in solid or almost solid colors.
X2. These are what I have right now. Pretty much solid light gray. One of a few that come in wide widths.
