Really nice Erik , both cones look fantastic.

I have always wanted a wood lathe but have too many irons in the fire right now , but haven't given up looking though.
Hopefully one day I will stumble across one that I can't pass on.

Played on the lathe 4 days last week. Made a plum bowl out of a small decorative plum tree i found on the neighbor's pile. (Tree service)
I saw some tiny crack on the ends and thought maybe i could turn them away. Cracks were much larger under the bark. Well, God put the cracks there, so i left them as features.

its a friction polish. It needs a few more coats.
Has alcohol, shellac and walnut oil.
I'm not good at getting enough coats on. I made that bowl Wednesday afternoon and literally grabbed it off the lathe and ran out the door to the Woodturners club meeting. It was probably still warm when i got there. Lol

Now that you have mastered the art of woodturning, maybe we can send will711 to teach you some photography tricks... (Sidenote, you better go purchase a truckload of Blue Smoothies) :ithappened::ithappened::drunk::coldone:
