I just went to the "window" and placed a $100 straight bet on "a Progress by December 2014". The odds were only 2-1 when I placed the bet, and the lady at the window told me most bets were comin in on the PH!

    ;)

The lady at the window must not have realized that my lady pays the bills and that, while she may not be thrilled with the Ideal Steel, she would be even less thrilled by the price of a Progress to replace it. And by this time next year my daughter will be away at college. Having two in college, one of whom is the primary source of opposition to having an "ugly steel box" in the living room, will weigh heavily in the final analysis.

Well, I'm taking my brother to DC, not my wife. As much as I love my wife, I don't know how much help she'll be loading a 650lb stove into my brother's pick up. Plus, once a 650lb stove is home there really is no way to say "No."

My wife's only criteria for a new stove: "No ugly stoves in the living room!"

Seriously, whats really nice about getting the new Hybrid... if you do somehow wind up with a Progress, you'll be one of the very few early burners that will be able to compare apples to apples, which wouldn't be a bad thing....... For sure you'd have to have a Woodstock shirt by then  My wife liked the PH over the Fireview when we first went to Woodstock, but we bought the Fireview, me liking the simplicity of the stove, once I got a close look in person .. Plus it was a stove they had for years... Turned out great , but I undersized the stove for my house. It was a pleasure getting to burn the stove,,, a real pleasure... Now I can relate to everyone else burning the Fireview, even though I have a PH now.. It was all good karma! So the Beta stove may take you where you never expected..... enjoy the ride! :smoke:

Well, the Ideal Steel production model is reserved for this summer. Sorry to disappoint the bookies.

(Hey Machria, hope all is well, haven't seen you around in a while.)

All good! Thanks for the concern. I was sick for a month (really bad virus), and then was traveling and busy at work since.

The PH is still burning away! Had my second oil delivery this winter last week, took 102 gallons. AMAZING! So I have burned a total of 230 gallons ALL winter! To put it into perspective, my norm was 800 to 1000 gallons per winter. YOUZZZA!

And to top it off, I spent the day today getting 3 or 4 cord. Truck loads (F-150) of 6' long rounds from an excavation site up the road. Weee hawwww!

    Nice!! :)

Love the Mickey Thompson DC-1 wheels. My 1st set of 35's on my F-150 were DC-1's. My second set ware on Pro Comp wheels.

    Nice load and nice truck!!

Thanks, that is a tired old truck, but still runs perfect and looks great. It's a 2001 Superscrew (first year it came out), has A 130k on it. The wood was bottoming out my shocks and springs.
