Ok replacing the cat gaskets on my Progress Hybrid. As usual WS sent me the gaskets for free/great customer service. They did forget to send the instructions though. Does anyone know the drying time (if any) required for Woodstocks inhousemade "Heat Safe Gasket Glue"? TIA.
If its like cement or silicone, after cleaning out the old gasket and channel it sat in, you should be able to apply it, wait just a little while for it to setup and lighting the stove should only speed up the drying time.
Thanks guys. I've used it before and my failing memory seems to think it was a one hour dry time. Backwoods we will have to compromise. It's 55 in the house. 2 hours and start slower than normal. Then let her rip
I paid for a gasket there yesterday for my PH - I got both the door and cat gasket for a whopping $2. I don't think that covered their time to get the gasket as well as the paper and printing cost for the invoice. Now that I think about it, between the paper, ink, and plastic zip-lock bag, they gave me yet another gasket. The gasket behind the cat comes off easily - I would clean the surface well, be liberal with the cement, and use the cat to hold it in place while the cement dries (the recommendations above are in line with my experiences with using their cement).
