    Right where I want to be.
    Don't have a WS stove, but I also built a raised hearth....1'. I can stand in front of the stove or sit.......much easier with the stove up.
    If you don't need to worry about ceiling ctc (it'll be in the manual), take it up to 16"....mine could be higher.
    It also provides a better view of the fire.
