Hope it doesn't involve removing the top of the stove....not with this week of arctic cold forecast...

I think it's great that Woodstock looked into this even minor smoke smell I have, but it's there... I know others have a stronger smell... The PH is too nice of a stove to let this small issue not be addressed! I myself would certainly buy another PH.. Simple to run like the Fireview as well..

    Hey,
When you guys clean and/or remove the CAT on the PH, how do you get the top/rear gasket that goes around the top of the rear (intake side) of the CAT back on? There is a channel for it that runs all the way around the CAT, toward the back of the stove. But how do you get the gasket to stay in the top part of the channel without falling out while pushing the CAT back into place?

My back gasket just stayed in place... If it's falling down I'd put a few dabs of high temp silicone in the grove and push the gasket into place... that should hold while you slide the cat in...I never use cement to hold gasket, HT silicone,,, why make it tough to clean old cement out,,, HT silicone is a lot easier to clean up down the road..

My gasket fell down and crumbled last time I checked the cat. Currently I do not have a gasket in place. I asked Lorin about this twice in 2 different emails with several other questions, but she didn't comment on that issue. I will ask her the question again.

I just call Woodstock whenever I have questions... You should be able to get gasket locally to get you going,,, must 1/2 inch or something you can get locally...

Any autoparts store should be able to take care of you.

Something else some of you might consider is the kit Woodstock sells. It has all the gaskets, cement, caulk, etc. Pretty good price too. I got one for the Fireview and it appears I'll be using some of those gaskets this next summer.

Thread bump... Any update on this from those who have been in contact with Woodstock?

    Thanks.

Yes, I just heard from Lorin the other day. Woodstock is in the process of sending the repair kits out to those Progress owners who contacted them with the problem. They also have a video on YouTube that shows how to do the fix.

Awesome! I'll tell ya, I deal with a lot of different vendors, I only wish they all treated their customers like Woodstock does.
