    Thank you for your email.
We won't likely have the updated air damper available for retrofit shipments until spring.

I will go ahead and put in a backorder and contact you once they are available and get you a cost at that time.

    Best,

    Dang - That's taking a long time.
I'm lucky the "sweet spot" on my settup is for the damper fully closed so no need for the upgrade.

Looking through the newest manual online it looks like the PH now ships with a probe thermometer for the cat that inserts under the rear flue collar. Any new owners around to confirm? Anyone heard anything about this? I know my mid 2021 model didn't have this feature and was wondering if it is a possible retrofit.

I'll be contacting woodstock soon anyway about other things so I'll ask them too, just posting this in the meantime.

I think all PH have a removable bolt, in the area circled, to install a probe.

No, that pic was from a couple of years ago. If you look at where the cat sits you might detect waves in the casting - not an illusion.

Did you replace it? I have a crack in mine. Could be replaced.

Excellent place to put something like that, on the back of a hot stove which is usually in proximity to a close hearth wall. Genius!

Yes, pretty straightforward and they provide good instructions.

The rest of the stove is clad in soapstone. I assume the placement was aesthetics. One of the new stoves (AS or IS) has the port on the side, but just steel in that case.

The AS prob hole is on the left side, well for me it is since I have the door on the right. But it's behind the heat shield....

I would be going digital regardless. These bimetal thermometers are such a crap shoot.

Actually, if you calibrate them they’re not too bad. We use them more for reference anyway rather than extreme accuracy. A case where “close enough” is ok.

My bi-metal thermostat on my stove can hold my house within 2 degrees of where I want the room temperature thermometer to read.

Allow magnet thermometer to reach stove temperature then compare with an infrared thermometer. Remove magnet thermometer and allow to come to room temperature. Gently move magnet thermometer needle in the direction needed to calibrate. You may have to play with a few times to get it closer to matching your IR gun. Be satisfied that it may never be as totally accurate. Then again, that why we use the IR gun. Just get the magnet thermometers close and use them only for reference. You should be able to get them calibrated to within 25-30 degrees, maybe better.

Hello all, I saw reference a few years ago about the potential of a new air regulator for the PH and was wondering if anyone has updated news on this?

We moved so did not get a chance to replace it. Woodstock has some great people. I know the replacement will be pretty easy to change out. It will make the system easier to regulate your burn time but it works fantastic the way it is.

My issue is when i set it for minimum airflow it has a tendency to completely close after a short time on its own.
