That’s why I’m here, for advice. I’m not a builder clearly. I’ll stick two more joists in each bay to give me 30” on center. Hey, I stacked slot of wood on pallets on cinder blocks over the years and that held up pretty good, I thought this would be a lot stronger.
It’s a ck2610. I got it in April of ‘23 and it just hit 100 hours. So far no complaints at all. Have a 5’ brush hog and grapple and it’s been a huge help for so many different things. Would like to get a snowblower but bucket with skids works for now. Looked at pretty much every brand. Kioti dealer is about 14 miles away and a long standing business that I trust, basically why I went with them.
I finally got done with my little hangover roof for the woodshed. Now I can fill the last row and no snow on it
Agreed, more joists, and support blocks...don't want to find the floor sagging or breaking a few years down the road...a stack of wet wood is heavy!
If you have enough extra 2x8 go 24" or even 16" but you stated they were going to be used for the decking. As stated wet wood weighs up quickly. One other word of advice is to have a smaller gap in the boards so your foot doesn't catch and you twist/break an ankle. I spaced mine 1-1.5".
added some more joists all with blocking. Got the cattle panels on. Will probably run a 1x down the middle of the panel, at the top of the panel and then a few spaced out onto the top. Have enough 2x8 to deck it and make some walls to separate the bays. Will have to visit the Amish lumber yard next weekend when I head out to deer camp and get some lumber for the roof. It’s coming along, keep running out of daylight though!
I was wondering the same thing about the blocks. Reminds me of a couple weeks ago, I had a couple bench vises sitting on my workbench and were starting to get in my way. I took one of them and set it on my toolbox. There had been a $5 bill sitting on my toolbox that I had found under the seat of a mower for a few days, and for no reason at all, I put the fiver in the vise jaws. Now everyone in the shop is trying to figure out the meaning. . I think the boss is the most frustrated. He left this note last week. Someone mentioned it's a tip jar. I said that's the closest anyone has come to figuring it out.
I did tell the boss it was analogous of trying to pry open the wallet of those with control of the budget.
Doing random things to make people wonder never gets old. Put a different denomination in there from time to time.
