Haha well now I suppose in order to exhale I first must inhale... mainly I blow it away from my eyes. It’s not good, but eventually I’ll get a fan haha.

Have all your pieces been done on "burning wood" made specifically for this or have you played with any wild caught slabs of wood. I have not played with much wood burning but always thought it wood be neat to do a sunset scene on some juniper or red cedar and work a knot into it as the sun. Beautiful work, you definitely have a talent!

All of these pieces are done on wood I bought from craft stores. I will eventually be doing them on wild wood when I move back to Washington. I have a few maple burl slabs, but the grain is just so magnificent that I cannot bring myself to cover it up by burning it. I have a rather small piece of the slabs that I may play around with, but for the moment my burning is on beech, basswood, and pine and birch that I bought from the craft stores.
The juniper burn sounds beautiful, but I am not sure how it would burn. Even pine is a pain in the tail mainly due to the different grains. A mix of soft and hard grains give a rather jagged effect of not sanded correctly or using too much pressure with the tool.
Thank you very much. I have dabbled in a few crafts, but non have ever taken my attention like wood burning. The combination of two of my favorite things was clearly the path for me. Lol. Pyro-art!
