Yep they do grow tall and straight. I found a new cutting area this year so when I return next summer I will have a good spot for some good size beetle kill again.

What happened I thought you had the old first or second gen cummins? Oh wait didn't you get rid of that recently? I think that was you and that makes sense with this new truck.

Regretfully sold the 2nd gen I had, did not trust it for a long vacation we have planned. Picked this up for that trip for towing/reliability/comfort.
Planning a 9 month trip following the NHRA circuit next year, wife loves racing. 2nd gens have their quirks and 9 months on the road I am sure some would come out.

You prolly don't ever use or need reverse do ya:rofl: ! That is the biggest "wide open" country (that's not desert) that I've ever seen.
How far do you have to go to get your load?

    100 miles one wayo_O.

Wife just showed me a pile of storm wood that was cut and stacked and it asked you to go get it and if you got it all they would throw in $100. It was 75 miles one way and I am not even considering it!!! All oak too. Bit I kind of gave it a second thought?

Well kicked off the firewood season this week with the new trailer. Works good, but could have put another half cord on this ended up being only 1. I was conservative on the first go around.
Trailer has tandem 5200# axels, cross members on 12" centers, Heavy duty split gates W/spring assist and knee bracing.

That is a nice wood truck. These old machines are great. I don't own a wood truck and I have missed out on free wood because of it.

I hauled up a couple of loads on the tractor carriers yesterday and I was thinking again that I really need a trailer for the tractor instead. The only road machine I have is the Buick LeSabre. It has a class A hitch but I got a conversion hitch for it. I am not sure I should try pulling much with the four speed automatic.
The money I was going to use to buy the trailer went into repairing the transmission on the Buick so I don't have any funds to put to a trailer now. I was looking out for a good used trailer.
