    I've noticed the same. When burning slows down and the embers get a chance to burn out entirely there seems to be less of everything. And theres more of that not quite clinker hard mass of ash.

    We are down to our last one or 2 nights here. It will gradually be warming up. Maybe a couple of cold nights in May. Then, the stove goes cold till the end of September. Will give us all a chance to get our inventory back up and the stacks a chance to finish seasoning for next fall. It's about that time I guess. I went through maybe 3.5 cords again this year. I have about 2 cords split for next year and another 2 cords in rounds ready to split. Another 1.5 cords on the ground still awaiting further processing before they are rounds that can be processed. And infinite more trees to bring down this summer. :)
