Just awesome Dave! I just love the log posts/supports. Were all just use to reaching for the treated lumber and this is a great alternative and looks cool also! :smoke:

I am a firm believer in that a person can do anything they put there mind too. Mine was fairly easy to build and done all by me and my son's age 3 and 5 at the time. My supervisor wasn't 1 yet. You can ask any questions you need about it here and someone will help.

Thanks for all of the replies so far, and the great pics, too. I've got an existing shed that is prolly 200 yards from the house. It is a great shed (I'll try to post some pics this weekend) but I need something closer to the house. It was here when I bought the place. Not sure if I will have time to build one this year, or not. My first priority is to get the existing shed filled. The wood I am burning now was standing two weeks ago. I am way behind on my wood supply.

It is too big to be moved. It was built on a thick concrete slab where an oil pump jack used to stand years ago. Great shed for seasoning wood, just need something else closer to the house.

Dave, Bogy Dave has been playing golf and riding bicycle for a while. He'll be back to shoveling snow very soon.

Made it out for 4 hours of cutting today. Stopped by the shed to take some pics. There is enough room for 2 rows on each side, with a nice aisle down the middle. I am very motivated to have it stuffed to the rafters by next fall. I would also like to have the supplemental shed built closer to the house and filled also.

My shed is 32 feet long and 8 feet wide and I can stack about 7 feet high in it. Putting the last piece in it each year is my favorite day. I have maybe 1.5 cords left out of approximately 14, but i've got a stack ready to split once the snow melts off for next year.

Are you obsessed with filling the shed? I sure am. I feel like filling the shed is unfinished business. Until that thing is full, there's no time for sitting around and watching TV. I'm done for today, but I"ll be back out there tomorrow to cut some more.

As long as i have a big stack cut and piled ready to split i can still sleep. But it is always sad for me when i have to burn up the square posts I stack in between the support poles on the front edge.

Going to do something fun this spring. Have some friends coming and will run both my splitters. Attempting to c/s/s full shed in one Saturday. Some of the pile will not need split at all, some is 36 inch rounds. Will be fun attempt. If we can pull this off, I can spend all summer and fall just building the pile back up.

Sounds like fun. Mine definitely won't get filled in a day. The kids help me sometimes with loading, hauling, and stacking. But the cutting and splitting is just me, and I split by hand. I can only do so much in one day. I try to quit before I get sore. Body seems to be getting used to the workouts, not hurting like I was a few weeks ago. Already looking forward to tomorrow.

Cool shed. Is that section with the cross braces where you throw you ugly pieces, or shoulder wood?

Yep, I had a connection with a tree service for a while, wood was free, just paid a small delivery fee, he brought a lot of stuff he couldn't sell as primo wood, made for lots of uglies.
