We fill those and sell them. We have a smaller one for our use. We have 5 like those, with more to build for cooking wood

Be sure to check the treatment rating on 2x4's, most aren't ground contact treated.

All good things to learn. Thanks everyone. I will be sure to throw up some pics when it is built. As for the treatment rating, I plan on adding an additional wood preservative to give it more protection for whatever is buried and a few inches above ground. I'd rather spend a bit extra up front and not have to worry about it for a long time.

T my reference to "a foot" meant like horkin said, a hunk of something that won't rot on the bottom (in the hole) of your vertical and soon to be weight bearing posts. It's not as critical if you don't build a floor and the posts are only supporting the roof, but it's a very cheap and simple improvement over just the post 10.5" (2- 2x4s) or 12.25" (4x4) square inches of "footprint".

I built a greenhouse last year and it works amazing. I plan on doing something similar for a solar kiln.

I'm very happy with it. The arborist was super impressed with it.

He'll be out next Friday for dropping the ash trees. It will get more full soon.

Also theres about 2 trailers full of branch wood from ash trimming at my buddy's gf's house. I'll probably get that branch wood this weekend should be a lot of 1 split firewood, which is just fine with me.

I’d like to see that battery powered so the Mrs. could drive it from the outside stacks right into the man cave where the stove is located- wouldn’t want the exhaust fumes inside. Of course the man cave would be more manly, but we don’t need any CO in the house.

Me too! I need to get a better ATV trailer and I've looked at a few. I have a cheesy little garden trailer that doesn't hold much and couldn't take the punishment of logs. Here at the house I just use the Human powered ones! :D Good exersize, for a while anyway.
