Hey buZZsaw BRAD how bout sending some of that good cherry wood to oklahoma in exchange for some good pecan wood lol.
Does it grow out your way Donny Price? Not having pecan around here id love to do it if there was a way. Whats the halfway point between Connecticut and Oklahoma? Lets meet there?
Rather common here. It grows a lot roadside as a "weed tree" usually covered in vines, poison ivy etc. Its interesting to see what trees are common in other areas of the country that are not around here.
drove by the other day and more logs dropped next to the road. Had to go that way again so stopped and bucked them all up. Mostly dead cherry and a dead pine log. 20 minutes cut and load. talked to the guy and he is all done.
Halfway between CT and OK would be my place in OH... LOL you could meet here and trade. Adult beverages would be the currency...
Yes we do, lots of it. I like a mix of it in the woodshed because it's quick to get going when split. A little lower BTU than Ash, but still well worth having in the stacks. I have a couple nice straight logs stashed over by the sawmill with the ends painted waiting for a nice day to do some milling too. They tend to get pretty crooked when they are trying to grow up in the woods unless they are one of the first and tallest trees. They aren't shade tolerant and seek the sunlight and bend all over the place to find it. We have lots of species here on our farm, but no Pecan. No Black Locust either, there is some around this area, just not here at home. Plenty of Honey Locust, Sugar Maple, Silver Maple, Ash, Tulip Poplar, Cottonwood, Sycamore, and several Oak varieties. I'm sure I missed mentioning several others, but those are the bulk of what's in the woods.
