I've found a few 4'x8's. They're always nice and heavy. I laid them out end to end and occasionally toss wood off the splitter into a pile. Keeps the wood off the ground and gets a little airflow from the bottom, which I think is very important for piles. I'm sure you'll find plenty of uses.

One of my suppliers for work deals with the HVAC industry so i can get 3x8 and 4x8 sizes. Thats where these came from. They are usually nice hardwood too. I used to cut and burn them rather than stack wood on them. The 16' was from Lowes.

Hoard on brother! I have stacks of pallets numbering over 100 in my processing center. I don't scrounge for them much anymore but sometimes I just find something I really need...:yes:

Thanks. I had found one a couple years ago i think was 4x8 made entirely out of oak. The planking was full rough sawn 1x6's. Talk about HEAVY! My hernia is still feeling it from that!

Seems like a waste of good wood to turn into a pallet! But the big ones I found were overbuilt as well. I think I was told they were used to ship gym equipment. Anyway, I didn't just pick them up and carry them around the yard!

Hate to tell you buZZsaw BRAD but those are not T-posts. They don't look like the letter 'T' when you look at the ends.

Great pallet score at the supply house today.
5 x 10' pallet. Not sure how ill utilize it, but rare to see one that size and not beat up. Maybe another nugget bin? IMG_1593.JPG 4 x 8' pallet all hardwood. Been cutting these down to 3 x 6' for half cord stacks. Add a few extra slats. IMG_1594.JPG 3' x 8' ill cut to 6' IMG_1595.JPG
This 10" wide "anorexic" pallet is the skinniest ive ever scrounged. Ill at least use the 8' long 2x4's IMG_1597.JPG Bolted from underneath IMG_1598.JPG
Jammed in the F150 (thats a rain gutter on the racks) IMG_1596.JPG
Back in the Spring i scrounged this 4'+ x 11' folded currugated plastic sheet...1/2" thick. Turns out its the liner from a new van. Heavy but sheds water nicely. IMG_1599.JPG IMG_1600.JPG

    This might qualify.

It's been laying on its side at the edge of the road for over a week . I suspect it fell of a truck while making a turn. I looked at it long enough, so I rescued it.

I have 2 of them now. I use them when I pull over to the side of the road for wood.

These always come in handy for stacking/racks. From where i was working today. Kinda "buried" behind a shrub. IMG_1672.JPG

Why did the gooses cross the road? To give me enough time to stop and figure out i wanted the top pallet in the far pile.  IMG_1758.JPG Just left the supply house and pallets always around. 8' long 1x8s and of course the 2x4's always come in handy for log racks. Dismantled it right there. Goose chit galore. Popular hang out area for them. IMG_1759.JPG

Scrounged this last week from a dumpster across the street from my job where an estate was being cleaned out. Was gonna scrap it but always good to have around. It will get used somehow for wooding. IMG_1717.JPG
