Scored this 4x8 sheet of 3/8" T1-11 at Lowe's today. Destined for roof sheathing on a wood shed repair. It was in cull rack with other damaged sheet goods...drywall, cement board etc. Not bad for $3. Original MSRP was $25
Scrap yard run today with light iron. Spied these T posts and 5' piece of metal roofing. Grabbed them when the guy wasnt looking as i dont think im supposed to scrounge. The back side of the metal had an interesting message. Not sure who this was aimed at. Moderating , not making this political either. Remove pic if needed. I got a good laugh out of it. I may spray paint over it.
I've tried to buy stuff from them, no go...."swapping out" steel for steel is kinda sorta fair game I'd say. Now if you were swapping steel for aluminum...or copper! The old family owned yard would sell you stuff, no problem...the new "big time" company has lots of rules now...
This is a huge yard. All the ferrous gets dumped outside. Anything else goes inside. I took the little sledge to a couple AC's for the copper & aluminum "radiators" prior to going. Copper wont go for a while. I got a 5 gallon bucket half full of unused hole saws too. No brand name but full paint.
We had a neighborhood cleanup last spring and my buddy found an almost full roll of 12mil reinforced crawlspace encapsulation plastic. You're darn right I threw it in my truck! White on one side, black on the other. 12 feet wide and probably 50 feet long. That'll top cover a stack or 2. Looks like this.
Those are heavy duty!! I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a few of those. I had one sitting outside for years, finally rotted out. Saved the metal posts that hold them all together. Seems like they would make nice anchors for soemthing.
Eric, Eric, Eric! I hate to tell you this but as a friend i feel i must... You have a hoarding problem!
