2x6 & 5/4x6 lumber scrounged today. To be utilized in a future rack build. Same source as post #325. IMG_6187.JPG

I was at the local recycling center this morning. Spied a rusty old tool box next to the metal dumpster. Well this inquiring hoarder had to open and check. Walla, rusty splitting wedge. Glad I checked. IMG_6190.JPG I don't sledge and wedge that often any more, but I have a tendency to loose things like this.

Nice score. Looks like one of the more slender wedges that starts easily!

Yes. I have one like it...somewhere. Looks like someone used it a bit as the mushrooming was ground off.
It will stay in back of the truck for for when I need it along with the other handled firewooding tools. I will use a steel wedge when I fell a tree from time to time.

Paint it bright yellow, or orange, or some colour that makes it catch your eye.

That sure looks like wood to me.

Do I not understand the thread's title?

Trip to the dump this morning to get rid of some scrap wood and an old door from a job. Spotted a couple 12' long PT 2x10's that i couldnt pass up. Luckily outside of the dumpster as it was full. IMG_6200.JPG
Passed this just a few houses down from wood storage later. Required my turning around as I thought I was seeing things. Stainless steel chimney cap. Never used. Top is nearly 2'x 3'. Did a little research and its probably $200 new. IMG_6196.JPG

Yesterday from my oak score. 6x6 PT timbers. 3'+ These will make good sleepers for a new half cord log rack build I have planned. IMG_6225.JPG and yes MikeInMa I realize its wood! :picard:

Today I scored about 400 sq feet of rubber roofing from a lady in NH who said she was a member here. She was moving to Florida. She was a fellow hoarder for sure. She showed me her stacks. Was pretty cool chatting with her. Didn’t get her name.

If it was in Nashua it must be the legendary Molly Midwinter. Quite the hoarder in her day.

Met her in person a few times myself. I always enjoyed her posts and tenacity for hoarding with a mid sized SUV.

No, just a coincidence he met her. She hasn't been active in a couple years here.
