I’ve been checking in at my “local” Lowe’s in Denver. They do have those there, but sadly not on sale. I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

Lost out on the pallets from post #305. Too heavy to load alone and I dragged my feet so they got tossed.

Was at a customers house I had did some work a year ago to do a repair. She still had some of the old deck boards and let me take some. Had the option to take some a year ago but no room and didn't need them at the time. Ill build the 12' pallet I need. Mostly 16' lengths IMG_5349.JPG IMG_5350.JPG

Good score! Boards are always good! I thought of you, Brad, this morning. Lost out on a Stihl ms261 with case and three chains for $350. I thought it was a good deal. Aargh! People are flaky as hell. I contacted the guy before the first hour was up after he posted on FBMP. All indications were that we were to meet up. In fact, I asked to come right then but he finally replied that he was at work until last night. So, I said call me and sent my number. Next thing I see this morning is "sold." I have had trouble with FBMP stuff like this.

That is annoying as hell. Ill betcha he told caller B it was sold and was offered more money. No honor in folks these days.:heidi:

I was asking a guy about a splitter on FBM. I asked if he was the original owner. Asked three times the third in Spanish as the guy had a Spanish name. No reply. I asked a different question and finally he replies saying he sold it for more than asking price. Im Ike WTF!!!

I feel your pain Bill! :hair:

On a positive note about FBM. I met up with the woman selling a Dewalt nail gun NIB and turns out it was used once. She took $80 off the price and I got it for a steal. Nicest woman to deal with too.

its when you chase one of these down some 50 or more miles that I lose my cool after indicating time factor for drive ect. And then arrive as someone esle is pulling away with it.

Great grab Ron. You gonna make some pallets? That stuff has a lot of flex as I've learned.

Just so happens I'm building a small deck to put a metal gazebo on. This stuff was behind the house my youngest boy bought in February. Him and his fiance see no value in it.

No need for pallets Brad. Look at the pile of plastic ones there.

The younger generation (minimalists as I call them) don't often do.

May need to space framing closer if used as a pad type deck.

I did see them but wasn't sure if that was your place or not. I have make pallets from reclaimed trex in the past. HEAVY stuff!

I picked up these shipping crates from the local dump. They’re what the 2 electric car chargers came in. ( yes, population is 211, and 30 miles from the next nearest town. So apparently there’s a real need for a charging station here), but I digress…
Anyway, stepson and I loaded them up and took them to a carport that my boss owns and not being used. I took me a couple days to get them stripped out on the inside and then modified them to be used for firewood bundles.
Planning to keep one at my place to keep ready made bundles in. So when I need to make a delivery I’ll have a head start. The other one with the handle and lockable hasp is going to the local grocery store for their bundles,( supplied by me)

    before IMG_1598.jpeg IMG_1595.jpeg IMG_1596.jpeg IMG_1597.jpeg IMG_1594.jpeg

    After IMG_1818.jpeg IMG_1817.jpeg IMG_1816.jpeg IMG_1815.jpeg IMG_1814.jpeg
Probably as close as I’ll get to using an electric car charger

Neat find. Awesome job converting them.

Great that you had the foresight to see them as bundle "lockers".

Wow, amazing large crates. Shocks me what some people throw away. Put it on the side of the road usually around here works, somebody will take and use it.
