I thought it was common knowledge by now (if you have read these types of forums for any length of time) that the cheapie MM work just fine for our use. The Harbor Freight one is plenty good enough. Walnut is about a 2 year to dry wood.
No apologies needed Prell...some stuff will soon become second nature. I picked up the same on from Lowes a few years back in Sioux City. Gives a good back up for people even if they have "calibrated" eyes and ears.
Awesome. I like my MM, mostly because its interesting to see what different species are at after the same amount of time. Also like to check fresh split pieces sometimes, especially standing dead just to see where they're at
