Maybe, maybe, I’m trying to remember what the leaves looked like haha. If you follow the stone wall they’re growing outside of for another 300 yards you will come to one of the last butternuts on our property. Or maybe I should say we all thought it was the last. Certainly have never seen any nuts coming from these but maybe they’re too young yet. The stubby ends of the branches sure look like a butternut pic I saw on the web. I know the leaves aren’t as large as our mature butternut but maybe the same reason there’s no nuts. I’ll surely have to look into it. Due to the blight that killed most of them off I wouldn’t want to cut them if they’re trying to make a comeback. Thanks.
