    That looks like a cottonwood to me.

    With what I'm seeing, I really think that's weeping willow. Sure doesn't look like any oak I've seen, it's kinda "pink" heartwood which concurs with dry willow in my experiences. And you don't want opinion of willow......YUCK.

    It's a big, old, ugly twisted up willow, leave it be. :) The canoe and dock pieces the canoe is sitting on also leads me to believe it's near water which is a perfect place for a big ole weeping willow.

    That looks nothing like the cottonwood we have. Unfortunately there's a nice clump of cottonwood at my cutting land. Such a waste of tree space and perceived good btu's.

    I didn't get an exact location but there are several lakes in that area , property might be on a lake
