    That bark certainly doesn't look aspen -y to me.

    I would have to agree. Aspen never crossed my mind until Fanatical 1 suggested it. Everything he describes about it is spot on, though. Its red and stringy under the bark, milky white wood thats a little wavy. And the resemblance to the coffee table is undeniable. I agree though, the bark has been throwing me off from the beginning.

    Ive got a bunch of em, too. There are 4 piles of this stuff in the woods right now. Prolly gonna get the rest of the ash and elm out first. Then i'll bring up the mystery wood. Whatever it is, I'm guessing it dries fast. I'm sure its not a premium wood, but it will burn. I can get rid of it by mixing it with some ash splits.
