    Living in Kentucky I've only seen one coffee tree! As I remember the bark didn't look quite light the picture I posted or the pictures others have posted.

    After looking it up, KCT is used as an urban ornamental. This one happened to be in a back yard, it was blown over, branches were very brittle, not like any HL I have seen. Brad, I looked at your pics from that thread and something seems different from my tree rounds. If anything mine looks more like the picture Chud posted, pretty much identical. Got it all split and stacked and I must say it is one heavy wood!! like oak.

    Mine was very dense too. I CSS it with what i knew was HL and have a full cord of the stuff. Gonna let it dry for a couple years at least then check MC. The stump cut off i gave to a customer for him to make something out of. He wanted cookies for wedding centerpieces but with covid it got postponed. It does have some pretty color and grain. I was also impressed with the growth rings on it.
