    I don't know chit, but it looks like the box elder I have in my stacks. The red streaks on mine also disappeared.

    I think it's boxelder. As others have said, Boxelder is from the maple family and yes it can often have curl to it. Bark looks right too. It's actually uncommon for boxelder to have the red flames in it.
