I want the shorter turning radius as in the woods you get in tighter spots. It's already a standard longbed axle spacing. Can't just move the axle back, you'd have to stretch the frame. I can add more/bigger springs or bag it if needed. Most of my hauls are short distance.

Thanks. I've just had enough years of doing this to dream a little about what would be a lot nicer for my situation. The more leaning over, stretching to reach and walking with weight I can get rid of, the better. I want to be able to blow chips in there and unload them easy and this should be great for that. Using a standard truck was a nightmare.

Very nice work as always!
Speaking of bags...ever consider a retractable tag axle? Kinda kidding...kinda.
Maybe just need some weight on the front...or maybe it handles just fine as it is! :handshake:

That does seem like the perfect truck for a mini tag.

Nice build man. I was anticipating the weight to be a slight issue as I read. I'd bag that rear axle and call it a done deal.

After cutting/hauling a bunch of loads in while it was dry, we finally got some rain so now I'll start splitting all the bigger stuff. Have the small rounds final stacked and will work on the rest now. Stacks go 8ft high for some scale.

I was getting to the point where I was running out of room for to be split stuff anyway. Neighbor is letting me clean up his dead ash so less limb wood than normal. I had also cut at Dad'sPrior and had some bigger beech over there.

I always like looking at builds as it has helped me see methods, tools an ideas for future projects. I tend to keep trying to come up with things to make gathering easier so I can do it longer.

Kevin in Ohio - did you say how long the entire project took from bodywork to first haul?
