I haven't used the oven much this summer, so I made the family some cheeseburgers tonight. I fired the mud oven with pine and sugar maple splits. I slid two firebricks in to hold the pan up a bit and raked coals under it. The bacon was cooked in a #8 Wagner. A few more maple splits to get a high flame and the bacon was removed and the seasoned burgers went in. Cooking was very quick. The flames cooked the tops nicely. Just about there. Clear juice bubbling out the patties now. Back in for 2 minutes to melt the cheese.
I haven't looked at the SmokeHouse Threads for quite some time and when I do it is right before bed and there it is! the wood fired oven cooking something delicious. gotta go and find some grapes to munch on now.
