Oh and I always seem to read these awesome WFO threads just before bedtime. The apple crisp looked very good. Next time try a crisp topping of:
    · 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    · 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    · 1/4 cup sugar
    · 1/4 teaspoon salt
    · 1/4 cup butter, melted

It has become my new favorite topping.

Woodwidow, I was going to put cheese in the topping, and I threw the idea out to the family but I got some strange looks. I can try it on half of it next time.

I added oats to mine, otherwise it is pretty much identical to what you have up there.

Baked goods thread. Can I have a piece now? No, wait! | Page 14 | Firewood Hoarders Club

I posted some pictures of a pear cheddar pie and was it ever good. the apple pie version needed tarter apples and when I made it next with Granny Smith's, it turned out better than the Gala apples.
