All this wood cost me 100 bucks. It's been sitting covered for 4 years. [IMG]

Not sure if this will help, but here goes.

I built a wood shed around my OWB when I first installed it. Here's what I like and wished I had done differently.

I wish it were bigger! This is always the case with any building, but true enough here.
Concrete floor - it's strong, it's level, it won't wash away and I can sweep or blow it out
I put a metal roof on mine - zero maintamence
I have 10' ceilings - makes it hard to reach the wood on top if stacked all the way up
I went 10x30 - wish it were bigger (did I mention that?)
The OWB "bay" is 10'x10'. I wish I had more room around the boiler
I should have put in a lockable storage area for my saws, oil, chains, etc (saws ain't cheap)
Friend who owns Local saw mill milled the wood for me - cedar from old telephone poles - looks great to me
Initially I wanted the back sided, glad I didnt get to that - I like the added air flow with it open
If you are enclosing your OWB in a building, I'd make 100% you have enough draft to carry smoke outside when the door is open
    I should have gone bigger

    Hope this helps

Glad to see your project is coming along LongPond. Looking good! I am going to ask you a question, not to be a pain in the azz, but to try to help. Is there a way you could add another 12" of dirt on top of your underground piping? Without putting the weight of a machine on top of them of course. Or some other way you could help with insulation factor of your pipes?

There will be maybe 10 inches added to the top. I have 5 inches of loam to add plus I have to raise the grade up also

Can't tell from the pic but you do have the heat exchanger hooked up so the flows are going in opposite directions don't you?

I have the supply from wood boiler on bottom on heat exchanger. The return from house is on the top. Will that work?
