I personally would not put any burnable/melting type material up against a flue pipe, even if insulated. Your going to have to have enough area to allow the metal to heat sink away the temps. Sealing for leaks is going to be a problem too with the curve of the structure you are using. I always like flues going out the peak of the roof line because you have so much less water issues from it running down the roof. That is why you can see mine angling slightly in the pic. Just easier, maintenance free construction.

Any chance you could just leave the entire backside out in the weather? Maybe turn the stove so the flue faces the endwall so you don't have to make a hole in the roofing material? If it is a short term thing, I think I'd do that as you wouldn't mess up the tarp if your planning on using/selling it in the future.

Good idea. I think I could rotate stove around the pipe in ground. It is one season with the tarp. I will have to put some crushed stone because boiler will be half on pad half off now

I am getting metal roofing for the greenhouse frame. Should I bring it right to the ground or leave it up for wind to blow thru?

yes. two man operation. one to lift the lines while the other sprays. takes about 20 seconds to shuffle through each 5' section at a time. i see less than 1* drop over 120' at a slow 3.5gpm. the underground lines can lose a lot of BTUs if not done right. see link in sig.

look up dektite pipe flashing boot. i used this for the wood stove in my steel roof barn. the base has an aluminum trim piece that conforms to the corrugations. where the pipe goes trough can be cut in different diameters of 1/4" increments. i did use sealant on the roof, none on the flue. no leaks.

I have a friend who sprays the foam. I was gonna spray 2 inch in a 12inch wide form. Then place my lines on top of the 2 inches. Them spray another 2 inches on the top

i probably have a 10" 'plug' wit the hoses in the middle.
doing in two layers i think would be extra work. the pex is so rigid that it is difficult to not only get it to stay in place, but even just to put it in place. it wants to coil back up bigtime. i jsut think it will be time consuming to put the pex in after the first layer. your guy will be waiting or have to come back to do the second layer. i layed mine out in the driveway for 4 days and it was still a bear. i made forms out of sheetrock to contain them. had to use wires and rocks in some places too.
for reference, trench was dug with 24" bucket.

Long Pond - we are kind of neighbors. Setup looks like its coming along, beautiful home.

Holler if you need a hand filling that shed some day. I like chainsaws and beer, just not at the same time.
