Got my beautiful MIL into her own apartment in Vermont; 25 minutes away  not Quebec

worked with wood 2x4 built interior walls for water sewer and electrical so we could insulate basement.. last year had sewer back up so fixed that and gutted basement… chitty job

efficiency Vermont gave us some $$ they take every month on electric bills to weather seal insulate. IMG_2466.jpeg IMG_2465.jpeg IMG_2464.jpeg

In meantime lost window above 60 mph or higher wind gust are bane of my existence

We just had 4 in a nest 30 yards from our back door. I’m fine till they dine on my garden veg. My wife can’t resist holding them at least once a year.

We have a ton of rabbits running around this year, found a couple nests with babies and lucky haven't hit any while mowing.

Also have a baby deer and his Mama hanging out this year.

    218511439871650091.jpg

And one more pain in the azz...Had a Racoon and 5 babies hanging out in the attic (Pretty sure there were 6 and one died up there). Paid someone a fortune to mitigate this situation.

Last but not least, the mosquitoes seem to have hatched yesterday.

Yes! While mowing yesterday I was noticing the mosquitos too. :picard: And I was within inches of hitting one of the bunnies. It was hiding and bolted right under my front wheel in front of the deck.
Sucks about the coons. Hopefully the stink is gone. Crazy that fawn was laying in short grass, did it have bright blue eyes?

Tell that silly wife that all she would accomplish would be to draw more deer.

I'll not forget that last year about this time I came within inches of running over a fawn. I'm not sure if fawn or me were scared more. That would have been bad to run over it.

Since this year wood is done and next year is mostly stacked and year 3 is in various piles. I try not to do firewood in 90* and 90% humidity. Brother came up after 2 and started messing with horse barn..

Horse barn is only because it had stalls in it
Pole barn 30x40 jacked up down hill side leveled
Concrete poured under down hill post to support then no pics because I must have a northern phone it over heats
    IMG_2509.jpeg

    Screw tools bolts etc
    IMG_2510.jpeg

Still T111 that will come down when we figure out what to replace it with not T111 at $147 for 10’ sheets painted metal $40 for ribbed
    IMG_2511.jpeg
framed for a 7’ roll up door for access
    IMG_2512.jpeg

Assorted racks for full sheets of advantec and plywood etc

I don't know if you have porcupines in that area, but here in PA they love to dine on T111, so most cabin owners avoid using it.

No porcupines in area, I know because with my luck the dogs would need a vet visit.

8" sheets with Z flashing wont work for you? Prime the edge before installing?

Any local mills for EWP rough sawn?

The 8’ footer are $48 here; leaves 18” uncover at bottom,

I’ve been call in the 4 local mills for pricing. But primed and painted metal pans might win for less maintenance and longevity IMG_2240.jpeg
That previous picture shows the degradation of that west facing wall. Waves in the eve, like a lake.
