That’s really interesting! Thank you! I can now do some math whilst driving past logging trucks when heading up 91 north! Seriously, thanks for sharing that info.

C'mon man, you don't want to grow more sumac there instead? ;)
Very cool thread. I like big projects like this, and it's nice to pick the trees that you want to grow there, for whatever reason.

I can, buddy down street was wondering if it would be good for smoking in his traeggar?

Loggers told me just chip it 99% of it for speed there’s 500 feet of brush on left edge where logging roads are. They said they bring me 6 cords of real wood off the processor..

In your logging left over thread I will have half as much per acre on about 40 acres.. These loggers will chip a bunch of soft wood thrashing to send to the McNeil electrical generating plant in Burlington.

Also leave main trails open and back drag with Dozer when they leave..

I take trees that die due to damage from dropping hemlock and pine. Told farmer he was getting more $$ as I had kept trails open and they didn’t need a week to re open them from brush 20 years later!!

    easier for them
    More $ for farmers
I heat my house and use land with out taxes

Update; chipping is done ;the chipper they had filled a full sized tractor trailer in 3o minutes. Sorry no :ithappened: the ground had frozen and they were going as fast as the could. There was 15 trucks the first day..

is the land perfect? No .. they dozed what they could and it’s still sloppy with the amount of moisture under the frost…

they went to the back of property line to other neighbor that’s a farmer…

    Crazy busy time of year..

odd thing I asked them for a favor for a friend
He got 5 acres and at least 50; 100 foot hemlocks
He wants gone.. I asked them look at it
They did and gave him a price..

sometimes helping a friend is better than $
    :sherlock: Maybe that’s why I’m usually broke:whistle:

The 2 acres behind his shop they will clear allows him to put a 1,000 sq ft home for his Vietnam vet father to be happy in.

Edit to add will update pics in daylight
