Don't know the guy...won't pretend to understand what made him leave ...but it wouldn't hurt any of us to think about our internet manners.

Too often we say stuff on the internet that we would never say in person.

 

I'm confused. I can't see where anything went off the rails here, but maybe I missed something. Just seemed to come out of the blue. Perhaps something outside of here triggered something due to the comment about personal life. Either way, sad to see a fellow hoarder upset. Hope it works out.

 

That 440 worked great till i did my usual with a piece of machinery.

 

That is all to true it is a lot easier to say things to people online that one would never say in person. I believe the internet while a great tool has really brought down real relationships and negatively affected how we interact with people.

sorry to see anyone leave - I also am guilty of not remembering all my manners at times - but also meaning no disrespect to any one. Can't say as I remember his particular posts. We all have life challenges at one time or another.

Glad to hear he'll be back. Obvious question is was it something that happened here or outside? Don't want to know any specifics only a general answer.

A lot of folks get very tough and knowledgeable when they're hiding behind a keyboard. Of course there are also a lot of folks like me and many others here who 'keep it real' as the kids like to say. Interestingly enough, grown men - even otherwise 'tough guys' seem to get very sensitive when they have to sit behind said keyboard and read . . . over and over . . . the things people say about them or in disagreement with them. Of course it's desirable to keep members here, but if someone is going to get their panties in a bunch for an apparently unknown or non-obvious reason and literally start a thread just to say they're angry and leaving then they're just looking for attention. Which they always get. Lots of folks like to throw a punch and then run. I say let them. Run far and fast.

BUT, they don't run, they lurk and listen. As a matter of fact the "I'm ditching this pop stand" member is logged in right now. Care to enlighten us all good sir???
