Normally about the only thing I do different when we are expecting a snow storm is turn the truck around so I am facing out the driveway. Like a few on here have said I tune into the weather everyday and have a weather app on my phone, working on a farm outside every day plus our own farm I'm always watching the weather.

Yep thanks. My wife and I went into town today to pick up a few last minute things. Some of the shelves were already bare.

It is times like this that I am glad that I heat with firewood and have that 3 year plan in place.

I check the weather fairly often, so I can decide when and how much hay to put out for the cattle. I even watch out for rainy days, to plan my outside work, and save other tasks for the rainy days.

Clouds moved in over the last few hours, , snowing small flakes, ready to hunker down for a couple days. Kiddo just came inside from jumping on the trampoline with snow on it and falling on her without a jacket though it's still 36*

I rarely check the weather other than a quick scan of the temps on the 10 day forecast every so often. If I start hearing chatter about snow I will investigate. As far as preps, I always have 5-10 gallons of fuel on hand on top of 5 gallons in the generator. I'll top off the wood bin if its going to be a big one, only because its a PITA to get the wood in from the shed otherwise. Before the snow starts, the SUV's go in the back yard out of the way, my FWD car goes in the front corner of the driveway in front of the shed where the plow truck normally would be, and the plow truck gets backed up the side of the house ready to make the first push.

I work from home whenever there is going to be snow, so I just sit back and relax.

Well I am retired so I have no need to go anywhere as long as I am prepared. Good for you.

How did you make out Mag Craft ? I'm guessing around 2' here, the wind is busy blowing it all around and building drifts. I see some blue sky to the west :)

Well finally got the power back on after a couple of days. It was quite the storm not this much snow since 2003. We got around 32 to 36 inches. Cheyenne got around 31 inches. So here are a few pics.
I am still not dug out. I think it might take a few days.

Was nice and toasty the whole time thanks to the stove. Also got to cook a few meals on the stove top. I think my wife was surprised at how well it did.

Ice on the stove pipe outside during the storm.

It is rather monochromatic. That is just the way it looks with the wind blowing and your close to a white out.

Serious stormy ocean of white. Reminds me of winters in South Dakota.

It is amazing to see how the wind will shape those drifts. All those pictures were taken from my front door standing on the porch facing north.

So Wildwest did you get any pics and are you able to get out yet if need be.

It is going to feel so good to take a shower after 2 days without water.
