72 cheetah 440 and a ZR580 EXT, downhill skiers, snowshoers, and I love me some curling. Glad you found a solution ... Wouldn't work for me.
NPR ran a pretty good segment on long term forecasting and one of the most interesting things to me was that just guessing randomly gave a 33% success rate(that's wrong two thirds of the time, btw) so for these guys to be getting better than 50/50 is quite an accomplishment.
For the unscientific scientific prediction- wooly worms. Apparently the more brown they are in the middle, the more mild the winter; but I happen to have seen two today..one outside and one in the garage, and they were both solid black. The wooly worms have spoken! It shall be a bad winter in Virginia. ⛄️
Wooly worms have two hatches a year one in Spring and one in SUmmer. Genetics and which brood determines the proportion of brown to black. Nothing more than luck of the draw regarding which ones you come across. Increase your sample size and sample area and you'll find enough variation to predict any kind of future Winter conditions you want.
Ever take notice how many of those little boogers are crossin the road while ur drivin?....theres a lot here....
