Eh...that's just a short drive for the Ford, right? Especially if there's pecan to be had!

Had an inquiry about apple smoker chunks last night. I answered him and he proceeds to ask a bunch of questions in broken English and finally at the end of the conversation he states he's looking for FREE wood. Needless to say I was pizzed :mad:and politely thanked him for wasting my time.

Note to self: do not respond to: "Is this available" inquiries.

I passed this firewood stand today and had to stop on the way back. Nice looking stand, but only monstrous pine chunks for sale! IMG_7778.JPG I also passed a new one right around the corner from my wood storage. (no pics) Factory made bundles for sale. $6 each or four for $20
It was set up for Venmo payments too.

Just catching up on this thread.
I cannot imagine using locust to cook with. When I burn BL in my basement, it stinks. I've used a couple pieces of HL and I don't get the full effect of BL but.. it doesn't have an aroma I'd consider,, tasty. Someone needs to try it out and report back.

Still haven't tried the pecan I brought back from the gtg. I'm going to try and do that next weekend.

One of my BL customers was using it in his pizza oven. Monstrous stone one he made himself. It was barkless as the bark stinks when burned.

Don't see too many FREE smoking wood ads out there. That's frustrating!

Production has been pretty sparse lately with heat index numbers well above 90 and some days above 100. When I do venture out I typically take shade with me. I did some cutting Saturday and spent way too long on the cottonwood I brought home. That was after string trimming and push mowing. My internal gas tank was empty. Fortunately, the guy has a nice load of basswood logs for me.[IMG][IMG]

Looks great, my friend. Glad you have some mobile shade. We haven't cut in 2 weeks, at least. Kidney stone had me down for awhile (7 days) then a couple other projects had to be done.

Something I didn't understand on our trip last summer. Temps are in the 90s and people in the campgrounds were having campfires - very smoky campfires as the wood was so wet. Inside with the A/C running for me.

The heat has been miserable. Kidney stones are worse. Glad you're doing better!

I totally agree. As much as I love a good campfire, when it's that hot outside I'm staying in. However, I'm glad some folks keep burning. It's good for my sales!

Oh goodness! I don't even want to think about a kidney punch when you're trying to pass a stone or two! Good thing you managed to keep the whining to a minimum.

Another seller near my wood storage. Parks the tractor next to the road. I actually stopped, got out and chuckled as it was rather fresh cut with some white oak mixed in. The buyer will be sending smoke signal signals no doubt. :picard: IMG_7791.JPG
