Thank you sir! As you know, there's far more to do than hours in the day to do it!

I just got the canopy (shade) out over the weekend for the first time this season. Work lights will probably be next.

Got started splitting what I brought home shown in the Loaded Truck Pics thread. The whole back row is white oak. There's more in the truck as well as the other assorted hardwoods. It's almost dry. As small as I split it should be ready in a few days. I'll probably buy another load from this guy.[IMG]

It looks like Labor Day weekend is already starting. A customer picked up a $40 stack of mixed hardwood splits from the roadside stand before lunch. While I was loading the truck after work to refill the stand, another customer came and picked up 8 bundles and a $20 stack. $100 is pretty decent for a Wednesday.

My forecast is $500-$900 through Sunday. It's typically my best or second best week of the year. I took Friday off for wood production and staging wood to go to the stand to keep it full. I'll spend Saturday doing the same thing. Hopefully I can rest Sunday. :tears:

How are sales going for you? Sounds like bundles are flying off the stacks.

Did you miss your Labor day "slip" Gary? I caught it right away and catch myself mixing the two up.

Sales are slower compared to Winter. With ample amount of dry wood on hand I'm able to fill larger orders rather than my standard which is 30. 30 on the PU as I type to partly fill an order. 3 of the 5 I sell to can take 75 or more bundles at a time so if they are low I'll bring a partial order and top of later. Im no longer assembling here at home as no dry wood. Trying to slowly refill the racks. My location for bundle wood is where I'm pulling from now. Nice set up for assembly just have to wheelbarrow them to the PU. PITA but it is what it is. Ill stop after work and put some together to build up stock. I owe one guy 30 and the current one will need 45. I'm kinda cringing as the new customer that bought 100 is in his busy season and thinking he will call any day. I've been meaning to text him to check his inventory. 100 bundle delivery not fun.

On a separate note I kept track of bundle yield per cord as I had four on hand here back in December. Now depleted and it made around 700 so 175 per cord based on my size and volume.

Ill be doing bundles this weekend myself.

Good to see that someone besides me keeps records and understands volume needed on hand to fill orders. Good luck with the 100 bundle delivery!

As you may know, I produce bundle grade and bulk wood separately. I may stop doing that as I just can't keep enough bundle wood on hand. I've only sold 93 bundles so far this year but I still don't have the inventory I need as sales are really ramping up. Most of my inventory goes to loose stacks, which are larger sellers both by dollars and volume.

Holiday weekends are usually pretty crazy. I'll probably refill the stand several times on Friday and Saturday. But that's why I do this.

Went home for lunch. When I left to go back to work I noticed the stand was empty again except for mini bundles and smoking wood. I won't be home much tonight so I'll put out 1 or 2 stacks and fill more up in the morning.

Took me several years to figure it out.

I'm up to 700 for the year and have 75 to go out yet. I haven't contacted the 100 bundle guy yet. I did lose one customer (temporary I hope) as he is putting in new tanks so the store has been shut down for many months.

Let us know how sales go this weekend and Happy Memorial Day!

I couldn't do 700 bundles in a year if I had to. But I have a large variety in my stand. I call it a firewood supermarket.

When I got home tonight and had just finished mowing a small section, a truck pulled up. He wanted $40 worth so I loaded him right out of some IBC totes. Later a customer bought a stack of oak splits. He's cooking a brisket this weekend. Somebody else bought a bag of hickory mini splits. That's $170 out of the stand today. I have a feeling tomorrow will be busy.

    Have a great weekend!

I would if I could Brad. I'd even bring my bundler! Of course some of the bundles might end up going home with me. I guess I know what your weekend plans are!

How long does it take to make a bundle? I think I did 8 today but I don't have any extras made up.
