Well it is a hobby as well as playing. I manage to get together with some other people every week and do some jamming. Most of what I play these days are acoustic guitars. It is all fun.

Yep you are 100% on the money there.

Besides when jamming there is always some refreshment involved.

Well here in Wyoming land of the free we are still able to jam in public places. That would suck if I could not do that.

Jamming in public sounds real nice. Not happening in my neck of the woods. At least I can jam with my saws.I got some pear and mulberry to make some music with.

Just and update. I’m 98% sure I won’t be buying a new saw. Yet.
I diverted part of that budget to a new mitre saw. And we had a problem with our furnace that cost a few bucks.

Will push back the bigger saw to next year. Might put $20 away every other week and save up for the 500i...totally unnecessary but that’s not the point

I own both a 550XP and a 562XP. IMO, yes, it's worth having both. The one scenario in which I would swap the 562 for the 570 is if 1) I was young, healthy, and strong, and 2) I was doing a LOT of work in hardwoods >24" in diameter. The 550XP is a great "do almost everything" saw. It's fast, it's light, it's nimble, and I use it exclusively until the tree is too big for the 18" bar I have on it. The 562XP really punches way above its class. Running a 24" 3/8" chain, it absolutely races through everything around here from ash to oak to locust. With the 28" bar, I run 3/8" full skip chain but, to be honest, it handles that so well I don't think going to full skip was actually necessary. With the bar completely buried in a 34" ash trunk, the cut probably isn't logger-fast anymore but it's more than fast enough for a homeowner. Having handled the 570 at the store, the weight change between that and the 562, I'd only go with the 570 if I absolutely couldn't get a job done with a 562. I'm not paid by the tree though...
