Will my chimney brackets work?

I have another 36 inch section, a 24 inch section and a 12 inch section. The 12 inch was originally for the wall thimble but since I had to come out, that will be used to extend the chimney. So the total chimney height will be around 9 feet so I am wondering if it will draw properly. The problem is that I am really nervous about being up on the roof doing this alone. Plus the wind is blowing; it is as bad as being March, and I don't like wind.

Will there be any 90s on the inside stovepipe? A 9' chimney will likely provide dismal performance if you use 90s...try very hard to work it out to use 45s

Oh well, I guess I will find out. Without help, it is hard enough to do what I am doing now. I would have to rent a bucket lift. I may wait until tomorrow to add the remaining section because I have to have the roof guy in place.

If that's a "metal" gutter as brenndatomu pointed out? It's not a combustible. .

As for caulking? If it's a section you won't remove that often? I'd use high temp foil tape. It's east to apply and easy to remove.. Looks like you are making good progress.

I think this is the first time I mentioned DexterDay's help. We discussed the brackets in a PM and he offered to make me a set. They worked great so thanks again DexterDay for your help.

Is 9 feet of chimney from the tee going to be enough? Another 36" section is going to be $86.98 plus tax from Lowe's. A 24" section would be $72.98. I was hoping to make it with what I have plus I am concern if I will be able to add another section of pipe because I have to stand at the edge of the roof and raise the assembly over my head and I doubt if I would be tall enough to do it without falling off the roof. I am not so sure how easy it is going to be to add what I have.

I am going to try with the 9 feet I have and see how it goes. If it does not draw that well, my friend will be down for a visit something in the middle of the month and perhaps he can help me extend it.

The chimney is completed. I am going to add a strap to the support bracket and that should be it. The chimney appears to have a slight crook to it, the stack above the roof line is plumb in both axis so not sure but I may just live with it. Yes, I guess I am a bit of a perfectionist but someone has to be LOL.

Ran into another problem with the roof guys; the guys are telescoping poles and the inner poles did not want to slide into the outer poles. It would not cost that much to have someone take a second and test the poles before they are placed in the boxes. I am really unhappy with the whole Selkirk quality control. I was going to head to Lowe's for a replacement but they did not have them in stock. I finally managed to get them to slide in to a point that would be suitable for the roof.

I have photos from opening the wall up to finished chimney. I need to pull them together. Seems like it has been a year long project.

I decided to take the advice of having an upper support. I had some of the heavy strapping left over from when I installed the garage door in the shed. I decided they would work; at least for now, for some upper support on the chimney support brackets I constructed. I added one to each side as can be seen in the photo.
