This is why people need to listen to the burn bans.
This is the back of my property ..thanks to a careless neighbor .
Thank goodness for a fast and skilled fire dept. We would have lost alot otherwise.

It's amazing the people that burn on a breezy day...then walk away .

It's been pretty dry in ohio, which is not uncommon for the fall. I'm still used to having mud and not dust, usually a pretty good storm to start November and set things wet for the winter. Thanks to ppl that took care of it before it got worse.

Wow, glad that didn't become worse! Common sense isn't on the rise that's for sure.

So glad they got that under control. We almost had that happen across the road from us several years ago. Luckily I spotted it and went to work while telling neighbor lady to call fire dept. Then just a couple years ago it happened about a mile from us. Burned several acres and came close to starting a house and buildings on fire. Crazy.

My neighbor did that a few years back. Burning his leaves in the back forty right up against the woods. I look outside and I see a wall of smoke wafting across my back yard. So I run out there with the garden rake and start beating the fire back. While his drunk self stands around claiming he didn't think it was going to do that.
Fire Dept shows up and yells at me to stop! I just shook my head, I kept it from spreading and they just want to power trip on me.

Did it burn much other than leaves and twigs? Doesn’t look like it damaged the trees but you probably won’t know until springtime.. And I don’t know if you had some seedling growth that could have been harmed. At least you now have a temporary fire break.

Mostly leaves and the brushpiles I had stacked up ready to grapple out .
We will find out in spring on the maple trees. They usually don't like much heat I have found .
All seems ok as of now. Fast moving leaf burn.
