Thats been talked about. Perhaps someday, when other remodels and fixes are done. But that means more wood. Naturally. Sca
Something like that. I'm at 20 cord ready to burn, no more space to fill in my racks, 20ish cord of Oak logs, 5-7 cord of Ash & dead Elm, about 2cord of campfire wood ready to bag. I have somewhere around 3-4 cord of Beech that I'm saving for me. I'm down to about 10 cord left to deliver. All this sounds pretty good right? Did I mention that I'm contracted or obligated verbally to remove between 80 & 100 cord of trees or downed logs to from 12 different properties between now & spring. I just sat down to review my winter workload before taking anymore jobs & my eye started twitching with a nervous tic. I'm a hoarder & workaholic by nature, but this is getting crazy. I may need to buy some more equipment.
I've always loved to hoard firewood. Even when I lived in a dense suburb in Southern California, I would still bring wood back home and have small fires in a solo stove titan in the backyard at the end of the day. It's almost a form of meditation for me.
Here are some more pictures. I have a phone app that seems to think this is a maple. Before getting the picture of the leaves the app thought this was an oak tree. I had to get my good camera with a zoom lens because the leaves are so high up in the tree. The part I am cutting split from the main tree and all of the leaves came off. Too many different leaves on the ground to tell what came from this tree. Also, the wood is very heavy and was not that easy to split. I do split by hand but it took some work.
