We are already getting into the low 40's over night now. The bears are eating everything they can right now winter is near for those of us in the rockies
Yup, I'm not far from you. Upper 30's most mornings now, it won't be long before the first snow. Gmule, did you get the hail yesterday? My back deck was a white slushy mess when it finished.
Our nine month burning season starts in a couple of weeks. The bk is swept and clean, the nc30 has the baffles out until i brush the flue. Wood hoarders always have plenty of wood.
We are scrambling to get to ready mode... New cat and gasket for BK insert still in box while stove is buried behind things due to remodel. New pellet stove to replace the old woodstove on other side of the house here, in a crate, in the garage.... Hoping to complete install by next weekend, including pedestal, stove, exhaust & oak, and new hole in roof. We shall see, might be large electricity bill from space heaters instead....TBD
This last round missed us. We have been hammered by hail this year though. In may we had a storm that dropped goofball size on us tearing everything up. I am hoping that the roofers can get us before the snow does start falling.
No 30's yet for us but just a little bit further north they've had several nights of it. Looks like better cool air will be moving in for us this weekend. It will be very welcome too.
I can't wait for some cooler weather...we are "dipping" into the high 60's at night here in Atlanta, and was "only" 88 today. On the other hand, sure does speed up the drying process!
I'm with you. I have the rarely used but very effective towel pipe install right now. Was supposed to get it hooked up last week but I couldn't work around my job. Shooting for the end of this month.
Wood is all in the shed for me, I need to clean out the chimney yet but should be able to get to that soon. Also need to look at the cat on the BK and make sure were all good to go.
