Typically, when the public is in the audience, the auctioneer speaks more like normal.....doesn't help the auction if no one can understand him/her.

Guess I was lucky with the auctioneer. Plus, I made sure to get there at the beginning so I could observe what was going on before trying to participate.

Maybe that was it - being a well publicized state auction, there were plenty of "normal" folk present. Plenty of pro's too - I was soaking up as much info from conversations around me that were from experience persons as I could get by edging around the crowd.

Ya the auctions can be tough. The private ones, banks and municipalities mostly are the places to go if you don't have a license. What happened to bogieb is becoming the norm, good vehicles get bidded up to retail prices so there is no room to fairly make money or for private folks to get a good deal. We have been so busy with repairs that we don't sell nearly as much as we used to. Plus I miss running into imacman . :( :D

I must be the only one with Ford luck. Near 90K on the fusion and done nadda but normal maintenance. F150 has 65K and again nadda............... No recalls on the F150 and 2 silly ones on the Fusion(lug nuts and trans shift programming).

Next has to have awd/4x4 and good gas mileage so most likey a subie.......Due to being cheap and good on fuel...........

    Joey will get the Fusion.

My 02 F-150 has 160,000 and my work car (2011 Focus) has 131,000. The truck failed me once last year on the way to Swags place. But after a bit of money (intake manifold) it's been strong since. The focus has only had oil changes, tires, and a coolant change. Still on original brakes. :)

At 57.4 miles one way to work and almost all highway. I expect to hit about 150,000 without doing the brake pads. :)

Makes 2 of us. Me and my honey got in around 9:30 last night and it was freaking cold in here........results are as follows

    20151017_211705.jpg

Turned stove off at bedtime and this morning is a repeat of last night. May be time for my honey to start pulling the bulbs from the ground-although she says she still has time. Of that I know nothing and if it were left to me I would probably pull up the wrong plants

Hmmm, my Honda Ridgeline was discontinued. It will really suk when its replacement time-for me its the perfect vehicle being comfortable, reliable, useful, great in the snow-and it fits in the garage unlike a full size

My 2009 Ridgeline has 131K on it. Oil changes and 1 set of tires at 80K (Michelin LTX have served me very well) and brakes last year. I need to get the timing belt done as it is an interference engine.

Nice trucks like the Sport Trac, excellent to haul and tow stuff. Always liked the lines / look of the Ridgeline - futuristic cool, another truck that fell victim to the "cross-over" SUV category. * Yes, you should get that TB service done, and might as well do the (OEM) water pump while they're doing the TB service, for the extra 50-100 bucks - at 131k and 6 yrs. old, that TB doesn't owe you anything.

    Edit: nice stove pic, also.

Me thinks you are overdue and playing w/ fire on the timing belt. It should have been replaced at about 100-105K miles. In addition, since the front of the engine will already be taken apart, a new water pump is recommended too.....fairly cheap and the labor is almost "included" due to the timing belt work.

EDIT: Ooooops....CleanFire beat me to it.

    I am! lol

Ford screwed me with our old Windstar that we had bought brand new. Tranny, intake gaskets (isolater bolt o-rings), all know issues with service bulletins and they wouldn't stand behind anything and we were out thousands. Our fleet vehicles at work are a whole other issue.

    Back to beer!

Yeah, I know I am playing with fire here (I think about it every time I de-celerate quickly on the highway) and the water pump is on the docket as well. I use to do these myself, but this transverse engine is too much of a PITA to take the front apart so it off to a trusted mechanic and about 700-800 bucks-which is alot better than a new or rebuilt head (valves at the minimum). I priced it out already with and without the pump-as I plan on keeping the truck, the pump will be done at the same time.
