I used to use a copper wash tub. Got it off eBay. Held about a bag of pellets, but was more for looks than anything.

Russell ....how much can you get in your hopper? Manual says 80 lbs. but it doesn't look like it? I haven't filled mine up to the top yet.

I do no have a garage or basement here and only have the pantry and outside shed for storing pellets. So 2.5 tons is about it. What is your storage situation for pellets, since you said your storing them outside?

I just scoop it in from my pellet barrel which hold about 4 bags . I made a pretty good dent so I think it can really hold 2 full bags .

I ran my electric 'tv console' heater fake fireplace thing in my bedroom for about 15 min this morning. was down to 60 in the house. that brought the room up to 65 pretty quick and i was able to get my frezing azz out of bed finally. Added another blanket tonight. Comfy in here now.
should be 70s tomorrow and warm the house again.
    still no pellets burned!

A 3-sided (lean-to) storage shed right next to the house, built for cordwood storage by the former owners: At 20 x 14 - it's big, we hang 2 (8x12) tarps in the front in the winter to close it up / keep the snow out. If it was empty (doubtful that will ever happen) it could store 6-7-8 tons, but I'm cleaning it now to hold 3 total for the season.

I had some pellets (about 1/2 ton) stacked outside briefly last winter with a cheap (blue) tarp covering them, on a pallet - had picked them up after work (11:45pm), and unloaded / was too tired to lug them inside or into the shed & that was the closest tarp handy, well a Nor'Easter blew through that night early am and just -shredded- the tarp. Luckily pellets were all good after cleaning everything up, but lesson learned: all pellets go into the shed or house now, every time.

Last winter was interesting, since we started burning right at the holidays - Christmas Tree, girls home on college break, and random bags of pellets everywhere else in the house. It was 'cozy' ..

I caved in on Saturday-no, not the stove... no shorts. Today and tomorrow are supposed to get back to almost 70 so it may be back to shorts again :)

Russell you have any burn time with the EB yet? Is that what's in the hopper pic? Just curious what you think of them.

Lit the stove after work last night and let it run until we went to bed. House was 68-70. Got up this morning and really wished I let it run all night, it was cold in here!

That looks really nice next to the stove - I think the Boss here (and me) would like something like that. Thanks for posting the pic.
